The SPARKS COSMOS application is created to analyse data in geospatial manners by using the Shiny platform in Rstudio.

This application is divided into several parts which are:

Choropleth Maps

Choropleth is a map which utilizes contrasts in coloring, shading, or the setting of images inside predefined territories to show the estimations of an aggregated amount in those zones. Our Cosmos Apps have choices by States, Districts and to the granular level of Parliamentary Boundaries.

Geolocation

By having coordinates, our Cosmos apps can quickly plot them in a map and show the clusters of the location. By using geospatial visualization, it gives greater understanding regarding the importance of analyzing data in relation of place and even time.

Heatmap

In contrast to choropleth, heatmap use the granular data of locations and produce colored region with different intensity. Geospatial heatmap charts are useful for displaying how geographical areas of a map compare to one another based on a given criterion.

Built-In Basic Analytics

Visualizing maps alone isn’t enough hence our COSMOS apps have a sidebar to produce basic analytics and preview of the data just by clicking the desired shapes or locations.

Real-Time News Data Extraction and Analytics

NewsTrends in GENESIX contains data storage on news data which is mined and scraped everyday. This feature gives GENESIX the ability to extract the data in high speed and analyze the content of the news data for up to 6 previous months.

Our team have been collecting and building our data intelligence to be integrated with COSMOS.
Data such as population, demography, landmarks and more are being prepared and can be used altogether with the user’s data for analysis

One of the biggest problems in data is having an address but not the coordinates. We plan to integrate our apps with existing API’s such as Google, OSM and others to help our user overcome that problem.

We plan to focus our development on enabling user to use any type of geospatial data such as JSON, GEOJSON, TIF, SHP and more. As of now COSMOS can support flat files that have State/District names and RDS which is an object that is generated from R.
